The Compositional Gut Test quantifies the total amount of bacteria in the gut as well as the levels of key beneficial bacteria and the most common problematic bacteria.

Beneficial bacteria:
Lactobacillus – Genus (approx. 44 species)
Bifidobacterium – Genus (approx. 47 species)
Problematic bacteria:
E.coli – species
Clostridium difficile – species
Fusobacterium nucleatum – species
Proteus mirabilis – species

Gut health testing with the Compositional gut test is ideal for anyone having issues like bloating, constipation, anxiety, fatigue, allergies or joint pain, or for those without any issues at the moment who would like to keep it that way!

Eating a more diverse diet which includes lots of prebiotic and fermented foods, staying well hydrated and having regular, moderate exercise and optimum sleep can go a long way to improving gut health. When and how to collect a sample?
Collect your stool sample anytime following your typical diet and lifestyle so that your results are representative of your normal routine. Try to avoid changing anything for a couple of weeks before collecting your sample as this can over-estimate your scores.

experiencing a heavy menstrual period, please wait until
your cycle has either lightened or finished.
Please also AVOID taking a sample if you:
- Have taken antibiotics in the last 4 weeks
- Are having a bout of illness
- Have digestive issues such as diarrhoea
- Have had a big night out
Results and recommendations
Our user-friendly reports are there to help you kick-start your own health journey or can be taken to a health professional such as a nutritional therapist who can create a bespoke plan.
The report will be uploaded to our online portal which can be accessed via our website or through the QR code on the instructions in the kit.

Once you have collected your sample, register and add the activation code from your kit on to the portal.
Back to Lab
Return your pre-paid box back to our UK lab via any Royal Mail post box.
Receive results
Within 10 working days, you'll receive your report with results and recommendations.
